- Verify that the Data Interoperability extension is installed and activated.
- Start the tool Quick Import.
- Click Input Dataset and specify the format to GPX and the path to your GPX file. It’s very important that you specify coordinate system.
- Accept the output database name and click OK.
- The database will end upp under your ArcGis directory
- Open the database and drag your new feature class to the map window. Note that it will be in WGS84. If you plan to use it together with data in a different coordinate system you should reproject your feature class.
- To transform your data, use the Project tool.
- Since you specified the projection when converting from GPX, the coordinate system will automatically be recognized. If data doesn’t have a defined projection you will get an error message at this stage.
- Specify output name, coordinate system and transformation. Click OK
