install_fme_desktop
FME Desktop comes in two versions for Windows, 32- and 64-bit. If you plan to read or write to ESRI personal geodatabases or ArcSDE, you must use the 32-bit version. See more about the difference between the two versions here.
Also note that you can have multiple versions of FME Desktop installed on the same computer.
Installation
- Open a new tab in your browser and go to http://www.safe.com/support/support-resources/fme-downloads/
- Download the version you want to use.
- Double click on the downloaded file to start the installation.
- Accept the license agreement.
- Select the folder where the program will be installed. Adding the build number to the path makes it easier to manage multiple installations.
- Don’t associate supported file formats with FME unless you know what you are doing.
- Don’t install the SDK unless you plan to use it.
- Select to be prompted if you don’t think you will be working with NAD27 <->NAD83 transformations.
- If you trust SAFE and want to help them make the software better, accept to report your use anonymously.
- Go ahead and install the software.
- You will get a confirmation when the installation is complete.
Licensing
- The Licensing Assistant will start automatically.
- Enter fmelic.slu.se as the floating license server.
- Activate the FME Desktop licenses.
- You are now ready to start using FME Desktop.
